Ode to the Amazon

An ode to the Amazon,

Your beauty abounds,

Bright colored toucans,

Monkeys making chittering sounds;

Vast scope of life for miles on end,

How sunlight refracts and bends,

A spider found weaving silk,

As a quick shelter must be built;

Slithering snakes quiet as a mouse,

The entire jungle is their house

Its corridors are exquisite and lush,

Paths overgrown by plentiful brush;

Insects cover the floor,

Ants go about their daily chores,

Mosquitos incessantly buzz in one’s ear,

Humans tightly clutch their survival gear;

The meaning of life can be found here,

Through trial and error,

Meaning appears
